International Day of Care: 🗞️My Fortune Op-Ed + Our Global Care Gap Tour!
On this International Day of Care, I’m thrilled to share my Fortune feature, where I discuss a deeply personal experience that shaped my dedication to solving the childcare crisis. This global challenge affects working mothers everywhere—from Nigeria to the U.S.—as we struggle with time poverty and a lack of support. But there’s a path forward: flexible policies, shared responsibilities, and support from employers.
Tonight, we’ll be hosting a dinner with care leaders and innovators to push these solutions forward as part of our ongoing Global Care Gap Tour. With stops in key cities worldwide, we’re rallying a powerful movement for care equity, spotlighting the need for policy change, resources, and reimagined support for families, caregivers, and the care workforce.

✨ The Global Care Gap Tour has been nothing short of powerful! Starting in Lagos, we tackled the urgent need for reliable, affordable childcare to strengthen Nigeria’s care infrastructure and uplift women’s economic power. This is about transforming childcare from a daily struggle into a sustainable system that supports families and drives growth. 💼🇳🇬
In Washington DC, we gathered public and private leaders to push care to the top of the policy agenda, focusing on paid leave, reproductive freedom, childcare, and support for working families ahead of the U.S. elections. Our goal: ensure care is a priority at every level. 🏛️📜
In D.C, I also spoke at the Women In Government Relations conference at the Association Of American Medical Colleges on the impact of caregiving stress on women’s health and the need for a unified response from men, institutions, government, and the market to close the maternal health gap and ensure women have access to the care they need pre and postnatal.
Our tour took us next to Austin, powered by Indeed, we explored how Caring Workplaces can create inclusive, supportive environments for working caregivers. It’s clear that when workplaces embrace care, everyone benefits—from productivity to employee well-being. 💪🏽💼 In Austin, we joined forces with our friends at the WNORTH to engage women leaders in building community and fostering growth in the workplace.
Each stop reinforces that care is a global issue affecting families, economies, and communities worldwide. Next up: Los Angeles (Oct 29) and Reykjavik (Nov 11-12). Join us as we continue this journey to close the care gap and build a future where care truly matters. 🌍❤️
